Earlier this month, another employee of The Village was arrested and charged with sex crimes after allegedly having sexual contact with a female student in 2016.

That teacher, Nina Scott, 28, of Downingtown, is awaiting her preliminary hearing, court records show.

The Village released a statement on Johnson's arrest and charges, saying she was hired in November 2016 after clearing all mandated checks.

"On February 3, 2017, during Ms. Johnson’s orientation period, we received reports regarding Ms. Johnson’s misconduct and she was immediately removed from her position and suspended from work while we notified the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services’ ChildLine of the allegations and conducted an investigation," the statement reads. "As a result of our swift investigation of the allegations, Ms. Johnson’s employment was terminated on February 9, 2017."

The Village said it has cooperated and will continue to cooperate with police as the case moves forward.

"We are grateful that our residents immediately alerted us to the behavior of this former employee so that we could act quickly to report the allegations to PA DHS, investigate the matter, and terminate her employment," the statement reads. "These are challenging times for organizations entrusted with the care and safekeeping of youth.Despite the use of extensive protocols to detect those who might attempt to compromise youth, many agencies and schools have faced challenges in this regard. We are very fortunate in that we need not look far to find so much good in the work we do for children and families each day, and to have a supportive community who understands that our work is vital to our society."
