Main Line Woman Suing Starbucks After Loose Lid Causes Burns: Report

She claims the lid on her cup came off unexpectedly, causing the hot tea to spill and burn her.

A Main Line woman is reportedly suing Starbucks after claiming hot tea burned her back in January.

According to Philadelphia Magazine, Karen Maneri, 58, of Wayne, was burned by hot tea ordered from a Lancaster Avenue Starbucks on Jan. 8.

Maneri alleges the lid to her cup came off as she pulled into her home, which then caused the too-hot-for-consumption tea to spill on her, causing varying degrees of burns and numerous other health issues related to the burns, the outlet reports.
