'Make Shift Food Bank' Reopens in Bryn Mawr

BRYN MAWR, PA — Donations are once again being accepted at the "Make Shift Food Bank" in Bryn Mawr.

Radnor Township Commissioner Sean Farhy said recent donations allowed the Make Shift Food Bank to reopen.

The Make Shift Food Bank opened when the pandemic hit region.

"It allows for discretion, privacy, and social distancing which is important these days," Farhy said.

Located at the Radnor United Methodist Church, 930 Conestoga Road in Bryn Mawr, the Make Shift Food Bank is available for those who need extra help during tumultuous times

Anyone looking to support the food bank can drop off canned food at the church. Bagged and boxed foods are discouraged from being donated.

Unused toiletries, personal items, and paperback books are also needed.

Additionally, Farhy said the food bank is collecting clothes to support the Veterans Group, which offers transitional housing for veterans. Clothes should be dropped off in sealed bags.

Farhy said while the Make Shift Food Bank is there to support residents in need, those who need more help should contact the food pantry in Wayne by calling 610-688-6560.
