Montco Area Woman To be Featured On "Shark Tank"
Becca Brown, Harriton High School Class of '96, and her business partner will dive into the tank Friday at 9 p.m.

One of Harriton High School's graduates will stand in front of the infamous "sharks" of ABC's hit show "Shark Tank" Friday, where she and her business partner will attempt to sway the financial backers to fund their high heel-protecting invention.
Becca Brown, class of 1996, and her partner Monica Ferguson, are presenting Solemates on the business-themed show, which airs at 9 p.m. Friday.
Brown and Ferguson created Solemates as a way to protect high-heeled shoes when walking on soft or grassy surfaces, according to the Solemates website.

The product has been featured on numerous programs and in many publications, such as the View, The New York Times, Buzzfeed, and the Today Show, according to the product's website.
Main Line Media News reports Brown got the idea while attending her prom at Harriton High School and noticed her heels sank into the ground.

Brown and Ferguson met in graduate school at Columbia and the pair developed Solemates, which are placed on the shoe's pointed heel to created a flatter surface that prevents the heel from sinking in the ground, Main Line Media News reports.
After running the company since 2009, the pair had been told by businesses-minded people they should try out for "Shark Tank."
Brown and Ferguson will be live Tweeting Friday's "Shark Tank" episode and hopes the community and their customers chime in online as well. On the product's blog, Brown and Ferguson list five reasons to watch Friday's episode:
