New Scholarship for Harcum College Students

-- Five 'Smith' Scholars to receive $5K each --

Bryn Mawr, PA – October 10, 2017 – A $25,000 award from the W. W. Smith Charitable Trust has ensured that five first-year students receive $5,000 toward tuition, room, and board for the 2017-18 academic year at Harcum College.

College officials have designated the scholarships for selected Pennsylvania or New Jersey students with unmet financial need, even after all other sources of aid have been applied, according to the terms of the award. Each “Smith Scholar” must also be enrolled full-time, maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.5, and reside in Bucks, Chester, Delaware, Montgomery, or Philadelphia counties or the City of Camden, New Jersey.

"At Harcum, we believe that higher education should be within reach of all those who can benefit from it, including students with financial need,” said Jon Jay DeTemple, President of Harcum College. “Thanks to this generous gift from the W. W. Smith Charitable Trust, we are supporting five new students with outstanding career, life, and academic preparation—the hallmarks of the Harcum College experience."
