NJCAA Awards Harcum Men's Soccer "Academic Team of the Year" for Highest GPA in U.S.

Other Harcum Teams Also Receive Academic Awards for High GPAs

With a team GPA of 3.4, the 2016-17 D-1 Men's Soccer Team at Harcum College had the highest grade point average for all men's soccer teams competing in all three divisions of the NJCAA across the United States. NJCAA officials named the team the Academic Team of the Year for 2016-17.

This is a first-time award for Men's Soccer at Harcum, which played its inaugural season in 2014-15. The Bears are coached by Alex Graver and set a school record in 2016-17 for most wins in a single season that year.

The NJCAA also gave an Honorable Mention for Academic Team Award to Harcum's Volleyball, Women's Basketball, and Women's Soccer Teams for having a GPA over 3.0.

The National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) gave the D-I Harcum Men's Basketball a 2016-17 Team Academic Excellence Award for earning a cumulative GPA of 3.0 or better.

“We are extremely proud of these teams and students, who have demonstrated skill at balancing their studies together with playing varsity sports,” said Athletics Director Drew Kelly. “We appreciate that the NJCAA values our student-athletes with these awards.”

In addition 19 of Harcum's student-athletes received individual student-athlete awards for earning a 3.6 or better in 2016-17.
