Paying It Forward With Carpool Treats

Gladwyne Montessori students delivered baked treats to parents in carpool to celebrate National Pay It Forward Day on Thursday, April 28.

A group of first and second grade students at Gladwyne Montessori celebrated National Pay It Forward Day on Thursday, April 28 by sharing muffins and breakfast treats with parents and caregivers during morning carpool.

The eager Elementary students delivered their brown bag gifts with a knock on the window and a warm wish to, “Have a nice day.”

Teacher Karen McFadden has spent several weeks discussing with the children the many ways and little things people can do to make others happy and how that happiness can be carried on. Recognizing this national day of kindness, fits perfectly with Gladwyne Montessori’s ongoing lessons in grace and courtesy whether it’s a toddler learning to wait her turn, a Primary student sharing a snack with his peers or a group of Elementary children delivering muffins in carpool.

“I liked that we got to reach in people’s window and give them the bag of treats,” commented a second grader. “I liked starting a chain of kindness.”
