Phone Scammers Target Bryn Mawr Resident
Police said the caller told the victim their grandson was in legal trouble and that gift cards were needed to keep them out of prison.
BRYN MAWR, PA — A Bryn Mawr resident was the victim of a scam claiming a family member was in legal trouble and money was needed to help them.
According to Radnor Township Police, a resident on Counrtyview Drive was targeted by phone scammers.
The resident was told their grandson was under arrest and in need of money, police said.

According to police, the caller told the victim to give them Home Depot gift cards to keep their grandson from going to prison.
Police said anyone who was the victim of a similar type of fraud should call Radnor Police at 911.
