Renee Dillon Johnson is reelected onto Philadelphia Youth Orchestra's 2013-14 Board of Directors
Philadelphia Youth Orchestra is proud to announce that Bryn Mawr's Renee Dillon Johnson has been reelected onto Philly Youth Orchestra's 2013-14 Board of Directors. Renee is also a consultant and community volunteer.
The renowned organization is entering its 74th and preparing for a landmark 75th season. The board is comprised of distinguished professional and community leaders from across the region. Since 1939, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra organization has offered superior instruction and performance opportunities to gifted musical students. The Board leadership team is poised to continue the legacy of the PYO as the area’s foremost musical education organization and as a frontrunner in responding to the needs of at-risk youth through its Tune Up Philly Ensemble.

About the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra: Founded in 1939, the Philadelphia Youth Orchestra organization is one of the nation’s oldest community music education and youth orchestra performance programs for gifted and talented students from the Tri-State region. Lead by Maestro Louis Scaglione, the organization’s flagship ensemble, Philadelphia Youth Orchestra(PYO), provides the most talented students with advanced orchestral training and performance opportunities throughout the concert season. PYO’s companion ensembles include thePhiladelphia Young Artists Orchestra (PYAO), formed in 1996;Bravo Brass, added to the program in 2003; and Philadelphia Region Youth String Music (PRYSM) created in 2007. Young musicians from ages six through 21 are selected by competitive audition and have represented the United States on five continents.
