Report Of Man With Gun At Main Line School Prompts Lockdowns Monday

Lower Merion Police said two Main Line schools were locked down after a report of a man with a gun surfaced Monday afternoon.

BRYN MAWR, PA — A report of a man with a gun sent a Bryn Mawr school into lockdown Monday, authorities said.

Lower Merion Township Police were called to the Shipley School's lacrosse field at about 5:30 p.m. for a report of a man with a gun, according to authorities.

The Shipley School and the Baldwin School locked down their campuses as a precaution, authorities said.

Authorities said a gun was never displayed and no one was threatened.

Police said there was no public safety concern and are still looking into the initial report of a man with a gun on the school's campus.
