SAVE THE DATE for Riverbend's 7th Annual Shiverfest Family Event
On Saturday, October 18th, Riverbend Environmental Education Center will host their annual Halloween- themed event.

On Saturday, October 18th, Riverbend Environmental Education Center will host their annual Halloween- themed event with presenting sponsor, PECO. From 4:00-9:00 pm families are invited to come to Riverbend’s tucked away location at 1950 Spring Mill Road to participate in various family fun events including pumpkin decorating, a moon bounce, trick or treat and haunted trails, reptiles, storytelling, pony rides and more.
Riverbend is also excited to add some new entertaining activities to the event throughout the evening including star gazing with local astronomers, face painting with artists from Wayne Arts Center and a live concert from Gladwyne Montessori’s children’s band, Soul Surfers. “Shiverfest is such a fun event that the whole family can enjoy,” said Executive Director, Laurie Bachman. “We look forward to it all year long!”
Shiverfest is not only a great family event for the community to enjoy every year; it is also Riverbend’s largest fundraising event of the year. Businesses and families can support Riverbend by becoming Shiverfest sponsors at various levels. Support from the event directly supports their education programs for children. Last year Riverbend’s school initiatives reached 8,600 students through 17,000 program visits with 70% from underserved communities. This year, 15% of the proceeds from Shiverfest Sponsorships will be used for their Sponsor-a-Camper program, providing children from low-income families with an opportunity to develop their love of nature in their wildly popular Summer Exploration Camp. “We are grateful to our generous sponsors and community supporters for helping us connect kids to the outdoors, inspire their love of nature and nurture their curiosity about science,” said Bachman. This year, PECO is returning as presenting sponsors for the event.
