Three Appointed Trustees at Harcum College
Holocaust Scholar, Health Advocate, & Public Accountant Join Board in 2017
Bryn Mawr, PA – August 16, 2017 – Three new trustees have been elected to the Harcum College Board of Trustees. They will each serve three-year terms.
Professor (Emeritus) Marcia Sachs Littell, Ed.D. is an internationally recognized scholar and educator in her field. Littell founded the first Master of Arts Degree in Holocaust and Genocide Studies in the U.S. at Stockton University. A prolific author and editor, she has written and edited 23 books, dozens of articles and book reviews, and serves on the editorial board of a number of academic journals. She is the recipient of numerous awards including; the Distinguished Service Award from the Trustees and President of Stockton University, the Anne Frank Eternal Flame Award, the “Merit of Distinction Award” from the Anti-Defamation League and the B’nai Brith “Woman of the Year Award.”
Ivan Lugo, DMD, MBA is a published researcher, author, and academic entrepreneur focusing on the integration of healthcare services, education, leadership, and advocacy. He holds executive leadership positions in the public and private sector and lectures globally on innovation in healthcare and oral health policy matters. In 2010 The Procter & Gamble Company chose him to lead the North America Professional and Scientific Relations group in its global R&D division. After five years, he left to create the Reading Innovation Lab in Pennsylvania to focus on strategy and innovation through private and public ventures. Lugo received his B.S. from Syracuse University, a Doctor of Dental Medicine from the University of Connecticut and a MBA from Temple University. Lugo has been selected by his peers and inducted as a Fellow into the oral health profession’s honorary organizations, the American College of Dentists and the International College of Dentists. He currently serves as the national CEO/ED of the Hispanic Dental Association based in Texas.

David Jacobson, CPA is a Principal in CliftonLarsonAllen’s Public Sector Group where he serves institutions of higher education and other nonprofit organizations. He assists his clients with technical accounting, auditing, and reporting matters and is a frequent speaker on higher education and nonprofit topics including enterprise risk management, governance, fraud, and financial accounting. Jacobson earned a Bachelor of Science in Accounting from The Pennsylvania State University. Professionally, he is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA), Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants (PICPA), National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO) and Eastern Association of College and University Business Officers (EACUBO). He is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), licensed in Pennsylvania and New York.
