Three Men Charged With Attacking Women (butlerradio.com) — Police say three young men from Butler are jailed in Butler County Prison after a late-night incident on Greenview Drive in the City of Butler that left two women injured. According to charging documents, two suspects allegedly broke into an apartment and assaulted one woman, while another man is accused of running over a second woman with a vehicle; all await preliminary hearings.
2. Clifford Boyer (butlereagle.com) — Longtime Butler resident and Vietnam-era U.S. Army veteran Clifford Paul Boyer has died at 75, with visitation set for Saturday in Hawthorn. After relocating to Butler in 1976, he worked as a water plant operator, enjoyed the outdoors, and is remembered by his wife, extended family, and friends, who are encouraged to honor him through donations to local and veterans' organizations.
3. Butler Memorial Hospital Receives Honor For Heart Attack Care (wbut.com) — Butler Memorial Hospital has again earned a national award for top-tier heart attack care, receiving the 2026 Platinum Performance Achievement from the American College of Cardiology. The Independence Health System facility has now achieved this honor 10 times in the past decade, underscoring consistently high standards for local patients with chest pain and heart attack symptoms.
4. Pa.'s Agricultural Innovation Grant, 1st in nation, to help boost operations at Soergel Orchards (triblive.com) — A Butler County farm manager at Soergel Orchards has secured a state Agricultural Innovation Grant to buy a spray drone, helping cut diesel use and improve crop care on fields in Butler and Allegheny counties. Local families can also enjoy Soergel's free-admission Fall Festivals starting Sept. 19, with weekend games, hayrides, and pumpkin and apple picking running through early November.
