Nearly $8 million in state LSA grants awarded to local projects (observer-reporter.com) — Canonsburg Borough is receiving more than $104,000 in state gaming-funded grants to replace portable toilets with three permanent, ADA-compliant restroom buildings at Canonsburg Town Park. The same funding round also supports major projects in nearby Houston, North Strabane, and the city of Washington, targeting flood control, park upgrades, and a new municipal building that could benefit residents across Washington County.
2. Collins scores 4 TDs as C-M wins conference opener (observer-reporter.com) — Canon-McMillan fans in Canonsburg have reason to celebrate after Bryce Collins rushed for 145 yards and four touchdowns in a dominant 38-8 conference-opening win over Seneca Valley. Quarterback Ty Jansma added 220 passing yards, including a long catch-and-run score by Evan Lewis, as the Big Macs evened their overall record and started Quad County play 1-0.
3. Ghostbusters Weekend Comes to Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, This October (ghostbustersnews.com) — Downtown Canonsburg will transform into a Ghostbusters playground October 16–17, with games, charity fundraisers, a scavenger hunt through local streets, and a screening of the original 1984 film at the Canon Theatre. Families can meet costumed characters, see the fan-built Ecto-1 NJ up close, and support local businesses while enjoying two evenings of themed activities.
4. Man convicted of third-degree murder in Canonsburg shooting sentenced to prison (observer-reporter.com) — A Canonsburg man has been sentenced to 12 to 24 years in state prison for the 2025 shooting death of 25-year-old Brady Paul during a house party in the borough. Jurors convicted him of third-degree murder and related charges in June, and the judge said the punishment falls within state guidelines after hearing emotional statements from the victim's family.
