Barbershop Quartet Competitors Sought
The competition will be held as part of Hot Diggity Dog Diggity Days (otherwise known as Perry Como's 100th birthday bash).

officials this week announced the competition—, the borough’s two-day festival celebrating Perry Como’s 100th birthday.
The competition, which is open to men, women and mixed groups, will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. Saturday, May 19.

The quartets will perform from 1 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. and the contest is limited to 12 groups. A maximum of six choruses will be participating in that portion of the competition.
Each act will be permitted to perform two songs, and will be scored for musicality, singing and presentation, borough manager Terry Hazlett said. The winner will receive the “Perry” trophy in honor of the world’s most famous barber.

Hot Diggity Dog Diggity Days will be held from noon to 8 p.m. May 18 and 19 and feature continuous entertainment, a “Dream Along With Me” sock hop, “It’s Impossible” scavenger hunt, an Italian pastry contest, a “Magic Moments” theater featuring Como’s television shows, “Crooner Idol,” food booths, crafts and Perry’s Playland.
The event is sponsored by Canonsburg's Main Street Program.
