Blotter: Borough Police Investigating Report of Theft of Jewelry

Kara Koski told police a roommate never gave back thousands of dollars worth of jewelery two years ago.

Kara Koski told on Wednesday that a former roommate in the borough never returned thousands of dollars worth of jewelry when she moved out—and said the items have been missing for two years.

Koski, 18, said the jewelry belonged to her mother, Barbara Koski, who lives in Chartiers Township.

Kara Koski said she emailed the former roommate in November to inquire about the jewelry to no avail.

Missing, she said, was a gold watch worth $500, a gold bracelet worth $1,000, a silver ring with a purple stone and diamonds worth $600 and a silver watch valued at $6,000.

Police are investigating, but said in a report that the jewelry would likely be difficult to recover, as the roommate could have sold or pawned the items.
