Blotter: Suspected Crack Pipes Found During Traffic Stop

A man and woman were charged with various offenses after a shoplifting complaint and subsequent traffic stop.

A man and woman—both of whom have Washington addresses—were charged with possession of drug paraphernalia after a traffic stop in Canonsburg early Thursday morning.

Officers had first been summoned to the Gas-N-Go at 301 Euclid Ave. when a clerk there reported a shoplifter. Police were told that the suspect had driven off in a white S-10 pickup truck.

Canonsburg police then stopped the truck on Adams Avenue near Sarris Candies and conducted a search.

According to a police report, Erik McAdams and Bobbie Renay David both had socket tools that had been configured into suspected crack pipes.

Merchandise from the Gas-N-Go—almost $12 in Slim Jims—was also found in the car.

Aside from a possession of drug paraphernalia charge, McAdams was also charged with retail theft and conspiracy.

David was charged with possession of drug paraphernalia and conspiracy.

The charges will proceed by summons.

Woman reports cat trouble

Nicholle Strimel, of 655 Alpine Dr. told made a complaint to Canonsburg police about a neighbor's cats "using her yard for a toilet," according to a report.

Strimel said her neighbor's cats come through the yard "and have actually worn a path across it."

She told police that the cats also come onto her porch and sleep on a glider there—sometimes scratching up its cushions. She also complained that they dig up the flowers in her garden.

Canonsburg police said they would contact the borough's animal control officer.
