In a proverbial nail-biter, the Lacrosse team went on the road Monday night and pulled out a dramatic, double overtime, 8-7 win over Quaker Valley High School in an important Division 2-Section 1 contest.
The Big Macs built up a 4-2 half time lead on the strength of four Matt Maletta goals but a strong third quarter by the Quakers powered them to a 6-5 lead at the end of three periods.

Richie Leeds scored the game-tying goal with 9:30 remaining in regulation time and after a scoreless first overtime period, Connor Niemeyer netted the game winner with 1:40 remaining in the second overtime on an assist from Andrew Hendal.
The win was the first by a Canon-McMillan Lacrosse team at Quaker Valley in many years—if not its first, as loyal Canon-McMillan fans debated the fact on their departure from the stadium.

The win moves Canon-Mac’s record to 8-1 overall and 2-1 in the Division 2, Section 1 standings. The team returns home tonight to face Winchester Thurston High School at 7:30 p.m.
