'Do Us a Flavor' Review

As you may of seen the commercial (if not, check out the attached video!), Lay's went out on a national search by voting on Facebook to create a new Lay's chip flavor. Ideas such as Mac n' Cheese, Hot Dogs, Chili and Chocolate, and even Thanksgiving dinner were submitted.

The three that made the contest cut were Cheesy Garlic Bread, Sriracha, and Chicken and Waffles. I have finally tried all three and wanted to share with you my thoughts.

My least favorite was the Chicken and Waffles. I was so confused when I first saw this. Then, a friend from college told me it was a Southern thing. So, I managed to eat the bag. I tasted chicken a little bit. It basically tasted like a potato chip dipped in maple syrup. It was a little too sweet and salty, even for me, and that's saying something! If I really wanted a maple syrup chip I'd just dip it in a sauce bowl of syrup.

My runner-up was surprisingly the Sriracha. I actually had to look this one up because I had no idea what Sriracha actually was. It's a hot/chili sauce that originated in Thiland. I was hesitant at first because I like spicy things to a degree but my stomach doesn't sometimes. The flavor was kind of mild but once you bit into it gave a good kick.

My favorite had to be the Cheesy Garlic Bread! Although I didn't taste the cheese as much, it just had a mouth-watering, yummy flavor—reminded me of going to a pizza shop and getting the real thing, or at least pretty close to it.
