It's Judgement Time-Dredd movie review style

The night I got back from my Erie trip this past weekend, I knew I had to go see the new movie, "Dredd."

I remember watching the original dating back to 1995 with Sylvester Stallone and just thinking about how action-packed that movie was. When I saw the previews coming out, I was very excited to hear about it.

This new one was no different, but still doesn't quite compare to the original, of course! However, I cannot comment on the 3D effects because I did not see it in 3D this time.

"In a violent, futuristic city where the police have the authority to act as judge, jury and executioner, a cop teams with a trainee to take down a gang that deals the reality-altering drug, SLO-MO," the trailer tells audiences.

There were a lot of great one-liners in this movie which makes it more entertaining if you are not fully engaged in action already, such as a conversation between Judge Dredd (played by Karl Urban) and Anderson (played by Olivia Thirlby).

Judge Dredd: (Talking to Anderson) "Rookie, you ready...you look ready."

If you are looking for an action-packed movie this is definitely one to see.

However, I would not bring your younger kids because every supporting actor looked like he came out of a gang documentary, scarred, nasty and mean.
