I was really excited; like I’m sure many of the video game and movie fans would be. I mean, come on—who is not in the mood for a little horror flick before Halloween, right? Although this definitely was not in my favorite flicks, it still panned out to be a decent film. I rate it 7/10.
As for the plot, the story is a decent sequel from the very first movie. Heather/Alessa (Adelaide Clemens) and her father Harry (Sean Bean) are on the run from a cult group that wants to return his adopted child back to the Silent Hill. But when her father is taken by the group, she is determined to come to Silent Hill to save him and learn the truth about herself.
The characters seemed to be very well developed and portrayed the story line accurately enough. However, the whole movie just seemed very rushed that it took away from the plot/character development. So, I wish it had been a little bit longer.

I was a little iffy at first about how they used the 3D effects in the movie. It just seemed to be a little cheesy at first. However, as the movie went on, I definitely jumped out of my seat a couple times when it looked like a knife was actually coming at you.
If you’ve never played the video games, you may be somewhat lost in the storyline but still isn’t too difficult to catch onto after a while. Definitely a solid horror film for this Halloween!
