I knew from the previews that I may like this movie but I was definitely going to be having my haunting nightmares the evening I went to see it.
"The Possession" did just that.
For those who don't know, here's what the movie is about: This movie starts out with a normal family, led by parents who are divorced. The youngest daughter decides to buy an antique box at a yard sale, unaware that inside the collectible lives a malicious ancient spirit. The girl's father teams with his ex-wife to find a way to end the curse upon their child.

The character development was very well fleshed out and built throughout the entire movie. What I really enjoyed about this horror film was it wasn't a horror film that was based upon "pop out" moments of creepiness.
However, it continually builds tension throughout the entire movie that keeps you engaged.

What really intrigued me about "The Possession" was that it took things from a Jewish perspective spiritually and with the exorcism aspect, especially. For example, the scripture scribed on the antique box.
This movie is rated PG-13, but trust me—it is not for the faint of heart. It creates incredible suspense and dramatic elements. Possession creates what's definitely a true chiller movie of a movie; unlike what some "horror" movies are made out to be, gore.
Most, if not everyone, who came out of that theater were speechless or turned into a walking zombie that night. If you have any interest in seeing it before, then it's definitely worth to go check it out!
