Business Owners: Free Disaster Recovery Workshop Planned in Southpointe

DQE Communications—a southwestern Pennsylvania fiber-optic data network solutions company—is joining three other top local technology firms to host a disaster recovery workshop Oct. 3 at the Southpointe Golf Club in Cecil.

Other host firms include Data Recovery Services LLC, VMware and EMC. The events will focus on the importance of a disaster recovery plan and how changes in technology have made these plans more affordable.

“Natural disasters, such as a power outage caused by strong storms, or ‘IT disasters,' such as a massive network failure, can wipe out irreplaceable data and literally destroy a successful business,” said Lisa Williams, manager of marketing and wholesale services for DQE Communications. “Understandably, companies of all sizes often are concerned about how their crucial information can be stored and recovered following a disaster. These workshops are designed to provide affordable business continuity information and solutions for mid-market companies.”
