Canon-Mac Meets AYP Goals on PSSAs

The district fared better than five other school districts in Washington County.

Canon-McMillan School District has met its Adequate Yearly Progress requirements on the Pennsylvania System of School Assessment (PSSA) standardized achievement tests for 2011-12.

The Observer-Reporter is reporting that five Washington County school districts and all five Greene County school districts did not meet AYP requirements on the state tests last school year.

Of the 499 school districts in the state that administer the PSSA, 60.9 percent made AYP in 2011-12. Of the 2,898 public schools statewide, including charter schools and career and technology centers, only 50.3 percent made AYP in 2011-12.
