Motorcyclist Hurt in Canonsburg Traffic Accident

Police also report vandalism and possible burglary over the weekend in Canonsburg.

Three traffic accidents occurred over the weekend in , including one that injured a motorcyclist.

A traffic accident involving a motorcycle and vehicle happened on West Pike Street at the intersection of Hutchinson. According to the police report, the motorcycle was traveling east and went onto the sidewalk to pass several vehicles when it hit a car turning left.

The motorcycle driver, Toby Massie of Canonsburg, was ejected and struck the back window of the car, breaking it. Police said he was not wearing a helmet and was transported to for treatment.

The police report indicated that a hit-and-run accident occurred Friday when a Dodge Ram truck parked on Greenside Avenue was struck by a black pickup truck, according to witnesses. Police are trying to locate the driver of the black pickup.

Lastly, an accident on Boone Avenue with an overturned vehicle closed both lanes of traffic on May 6 around 9:15 pm.

Vandalism

The building at 108 S. Central Ave. was vandalized early Monday morning.  A broken front window and glass of a side door were noticed by an officer on patrol. 

After checking the property, police found that additional windows around back were broken as well. They are in the process of locating the owner of the building.

Possible Burglary

An air conditioning unit was possibly stolen from 1324 Lucia Dr. and was reported by a landscaper cutting the grass. The unit was missing and wires had been cut. The house is vacant but the person indicated that the air conditioner was in place the last time he cut the grass.
