Digital Database Will Help Increase Efficiency in Cecil
A new piece of equipment will allow the township to create digital copies of cumbersome zoning and planning documents—papers that now overrun at least one municipal office.

Nary a square inch of table space is available in one of 's small meeting rooms. Piles of planning papers and scrolls of zoning documents choke the table, and obscures the floor nearby.
But a new piece of equipment being purchased by the township will change that scene, Zoning Officer Bruce Bosle said.
Cecil Township's board of supervisors voted unanimously Monday to spend $8,714 on a Deisgn Jet T2300 eMFP plotter printer—a piece of equipment officials say will help the muncipality create a digital database of those cumbersome documents.

More specifically: It will allow officials to electronically store a decade's worth of development and subdivision plans in an attempt to create a digitally preserved system of networked files.
It will also allow the township to print large-scale maps at the municipal building, as opposed to relying on its engineer to replicate the maps on its behalf.

Township bookkeeper Katrina Sincek's job description was tweaked to also make her an assistant to Bosle, a move the township said it made to help facilitate the transition to the digital database.
Bosle said that Peters Township uses a similar piece of equipment, while McCandless utilizes the same technology.
"I really appreciate this happening," he said.
