Feds Praise Canonsburg Police for Help in Firearms Case

were thanked this week for assisting in an investigation that led to a Pittsburgh man being sentenced in federal court for violating federal firearms laws and the conditions of his federal supervised release.
U.S Attorney David J. Hickton said Thursday that Eric Durah, 36, was sentenced to serve 10 years in prison followed by three years of supervised release by U.S District Judge Arthur J. Schwab.
On Jan. 7, 2011, Durah transferred a firearm to a person he knew was under indictment for a felony crime.

Durah was also sentenced to serve one year in prison—to be served consecutively to the 10-year prison term referenced above—for violating the conditions of his supervised release that were imposed as part of prior federal drug-trafficking and firearms convictions and sentences.
Hickton also commended the FBI, the Federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives, the Pittsburgh Bureau of Police, the U. S. Postal Inspection Service, the Pennsylvania State Police, the Allegheny County Sheriff's Office, the , and the Allegheny County Police Department for the successful investigation leading to the conviction and sentence in this case.
