Fire Department Hosts 'Save Your Horse' Program

The Washington County Animal Response Team is hosting the event Saturday.

Calling all horse owners: You may want to save the date Saturday, because the Washington County Animal Response Team is hosting a "Save Your Horse" seminar.

The event, which will run from 10 a.m. through 2 p.m., will be held at the North Strabane Fire Department.

Registration is $25, and lunch is included.

This four-hour seminar will educate participants on how to work with emergency responders through an incident, and the team will give an overview of how they use lifting techniques and rescue hardware.

It will also include information on how to tie emergency harnesses and halters.

The seminar will also include information on trailer and barn fire safety measures, and the use of fire extinguishers.

Please note the class is limited to 30 participants and must have minimum number of 15 participants.
