Fired Police Officer Back on the Force

An arbitrator ruled in Eric Spicer's favor, and he's back on the job as a North Strabane Township police officer.

A officer who was fired by supervisors for reportedly violating several department policies was reinstated last month after an arbitrator ruled in his favor.

Brian Spicer confirmed the reinstatement on Tuesday, saying that he had remained hopeful through the process that this would be the eventual outcome.

“I knew in time that the arbitrator would vindicate (him),” he said.

Township Manager Frank Siffrinn could not immediately be reached for comment, but the Observer-Reporter in Washington indicated that Eric Spicer was reinstated with back pay and benefits.
