Get Tickets 'Fore' Mylan and Help Your Favorite Charity

The Mylan Classic launched its TICKETS Fore CHARITY program this week.

Officials from the β€”which will again be held in Southpointe this yearβ€”announced this week that ANSYS Inc. will again be the sponsor of the tournament’s TICKETS Fore CHARITY program.

In 2011, the tournament generated more than $453,000 for participating non-profit organizations through ANSYS TICKETS Fore CHARITY. With additional donations, the tournament contributed nearly $500,000 to regional charities.

Β β€œFor the last two years, this signature event has drawn the world’s attention to , Washington County and the Pittsburgh area; raised substantial funds for deserving local charities; and had a positive economic impact throughout the region,” said Mylan Executive Chairman Robert J. Coury. β€œThe Mylan Classic showcases how a superbly run sporting event, generous volunteers and welcoming communities can pull together and make a real difference in people’s lives, and we are extremely excited to partner with ANSYS to deliver what we believe will be the event’s best year ever.”

The 2012 ANSYS TICKETS Fore CHARITY program kicked off last Wednesday with a simulcast webinar attended by more than 100 local non-profit representatives. Charity leadership from across the region logged in to meet with Mylan Classic officials to learn about the program and receive information about this year’s tournament.

Designed to create funding opportunities for 501(c)(3) non-profit organizations, TICKETS Fore CHARITY allows participating non-profit organizations to sell Mylan Classic tournament tickets and retain 100 percent of the proceeds.

Additionally, ANSYS has contributed $35,000 to a bonus pool that will be distributed among the participating charities based on their percentage of ticket sales relative to the overall program’s.

As one of the region’s premier events, the Mylan Classic offers championship golf and entertainment for the whole family. Weekly tournament tickets for the Mylan Classic are priced at $25 and are valid for the tournament itself as well as for concerts, clinics and special events during tournament week.

In 2011, the tournament hosted concerts by Jerrod Niemann, Steel Magnolia, Scott Blasey of The Clarks, Joe Grushecky and The Spinners. The tournament’s concert series for 2012 will be announced in the coming months.
