Golfers Needed For Thomas Youth League Event
One golfer will take a shot at $1 million, and another will get a chance to make a put for $5,000.

Scott McClain said the annual is more than a fundraising event—it's also a really good time.
That said, he needs your help.
McClain, who is the director of the outing, said he is looking for two single players and a couple of foursomes for the event—which will start at 11:30 a.m. May 14 at Quicksilver Golf Club in Midway.

The cost of a foursome, he said, is $400. The cost for a single player is $125, and those prices include 18 holes of golf and a chance to win an opportunity to take a shot at $1 million, or to take a put for $5,000.
In addition, McClain said participants will be eligible to win a variety of door prizes, including clubs, bags, and even a three-day, two-night Disney vacation for four.

And he said it's all for a good cause: The kids.
Kids 8 years of age and younger from all over—including those from the Canon-McMillan and Venetia areas—participate in sports opportunities the nonprofit offers.
"We not only teach them sports skills, but also life skills," he said.
The Thomas Youth League hopes to raise as much as $3,000 from the outing, which will be used to help rehab a field next to Thomas Church that has been plagued by drainage problems.
"We want to get that field back in the shape it was a few years ago," he said.
Still on the fence? How about if McClain told you there were free refreshments, to boot?
"All I ask is that you tip the beer cart girls well," McClain said with a laugh, adding they are his daughters.
