Jean Ellen Thomas, 57, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 in her home after a lengthy illness.
She was born March 12, 1954 in Atlanta, Ga., a daughter of the late William and Hazel Bjorklund Thomas.
She worked as a waitress. Ms. Thomas was an avid gardener, and loved cooking and nature.

Surviving are two sisters, Patricia (John) Kretzmer, of Allison Park; Lori (Mike) Weaver, of Pendleton, Ind.; three nieces, Caitlin Weaver, Kelly Weaver and Sarah Kretzmer; and one nephew, Joshua Kretzmer.
She was preceded in death by her parents.

There will be no public visitation, and services are private.
