The Meadows Celebrates Thanks and Giving

In the spirit of being thankful and giving, The Meadows Casino is launching a series of charitable events and initiatives to support local children and families during the holiday season.

The giving began with an employee food drive for the Greater Washington County Food Bank. The results of a week-long campaign accumulated 500 pounds of non-perishable food, which will be distributed to local families. The Meadows also recommitted as a major supporter of the 2,000 Turkeys campaign, providing the Food Bank with a donation of $10,000.

Another initiative for The Meadows involves the Treasures for Children program, which is organized by The Salvation Army and provides Christmas gifts for children throughout the area. Employees adopted tags with names and ages from a Christmas tree in the employee dining room and will place the unwrapped gifts under the tree to be distributed in mid-December.

The giving continues as The Meadows Casino also supported the annual PRESENTS FOR PATIENTS®. Celebrating its 31st season, this St. Barnabas Charities Christmas program aims to create smiles for area nursing home and assisted living patients by delivering gifts and sharing a visit with those who may be lonely. The Meadows donated $2,640 based on swipes from Players Club cards.

Finally, The Meadows continues the tradition of supporting the Toys for Tots campaign in cooperation with the Marine Corps Reserve of Washington County. New, unwrapped toys may be dropped off in designated boxes located throughout The Meadows and will be distributed as Christmas gifts to needy children in the local community.
