North Strabane Police Charge Peters Man with Theft from Vehicles

Joshua Thomson was also charged with receiving stolen property and access device fraud.

A Peters Township man is in jail Friday after being charged with access device fraud and felony counts of theft from a motor vehicle and receiving stolen property.

Joshua Thomson, 29, was arraigned before district Judge Robert Redlinger Friday. He was jailed after being unable to post a $10,000 bond.

Thomson is scheduled to appear before district at 9:15 a.m. March 20 for a preliminary hearing.

The Observer-Reporter newspaper indicated that Thomson was picked up on a warrant that accused him of stealing things such as cell phones, purses and computer equipment with a combined value of more than $4,000.

The newspaper said Thomson was identified as the suspect in the Oct. 24 thefts “after Pittsburgh police were alerted to suspicious transactions at MIB Pawn Shop … A gun stolen from one of the vehicles later was exchanged for drugs in Pittsburgh’s Arlington section, township police stated in the criminal affidavit.”
