Oasis Pasta House Known for 'Homemade'

The owner suggests coming in and trying some of their homemade pasta.

If you remember the building on Miller’s Run Road in Cecil Township as My Brother’s Place, you have a surprise waiting for you.

Now in its stead is —a family restaurant owned by the Miller family of South Fayette.

The family has owned the Oasis brand since the 1940s, with a takeout establishment in Carnegie and former restaurant in Heidelberg—and the newest addition right here in .

The Miller’s Run locale has been open since November.

“It’s never going to be a bar again,” owner Chuck Miller said with a smile, adding that customers may bring their own beer or bottle of wine to enjoy with dinner (with no cork fee, either).

And homemade dinners are what the restaurant is known for, along with the portion sizes, which Miller described as “generous.”

Although he said Oasis has a mean fish sandwich (after all, it is still the Lenten season), most patrons love the homemade pasta and sauces.

“It’s authentic Italian—homemade,” Miller said. “It was passed on from generation to generation.”

And he does mean homemade. There is no electronic pasta machine—the family still uses the hand-cranked variety.

Plan on stopping by? Then Miller suggests the chicken Parmesan or one of the filled, homemade pastas.

“The homemade is what sells,” he said, explaining their raviolis are popular. “Those are the big sellers.”
