Obituary: Charles Allen Bails

Charles Allen Bails, 88, of Eighty Four, died Monday, Jan. 16 2012 in Aden Courts of Bath in Akron, Ohio.

He was born Jan. 12, 1924 in , a son of the late Wallace and Johanna Feldman Bails.

Prior to his retirement, he worked at the Fisher body division of General Motors in West Mifflin.

He was a past commander and member of VFW Post 191, a member of VFW Post 764 and a member of the Masonic Lodge 297.

On March 12, 1947 he married Margaret Milligan Bails, who died March 10, 1990. Surviving are one daughter, Marti (Gerald) Cowden of Akron, Ohio, and one son, Charles Allen Bails Jr. of Canonsburg; two grandchildren, Margaux (Becky Bailey) Cowden of Philadelphia, and Meredith Cowden of Lakewood, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and his wife, Mr. Bails was preceded in death by his brothers, Edward, Raymond and Herbert Bails, and his sister, Anna Russell.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at the Sollon Funeral Home at 30 E. College St., Canonsburg.

Services will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home followed by interment in Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray. Full military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 191 and the American Legion Post 902.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made in the memory of Charles Allen Bails to your favorite charity.
