
Daniel R. Bruno, 82, of Canonsburg, died peacefully Monday, May 14, 2012, in Canonsburg General Hospital.
He was born Dec. 17, 1929, in Canonsburg, a son of Philip and Rose Turco Bruno.
Daniel was a lifelong Canonsburg resident and was a barber for 30 years. He was then employed by the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board for 10 years. He served with the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict and was a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 191. He was a devoted family man and a good friend to all who knew him.

He is survived by his wife, Violet I. "Vicki" Cage Bruno; one daughter, Danelle R. Waugh and her husband, Don, of Houston; two brothers, Louis Bruno of Canonsburg and Michael Bruno of Hamilton, OH; three grandchildren, Eric, Katelyn and Alex Waugh; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by three brothers, Sam, Ronald and Eugene Bruno; and two sisters, Janette Dagsher and Betty Maher.

Friends will be received Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Sollon Funeral Home Ltd., 30 East College St., Canonsburg, where services will be held at noon Thursday with the Rev. Thomas Hamilton officiating. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville, with full military rites accorded by the combined honor guards of VFW Post 191 and American Legion Post 902.
