Obituary: Della Woznichak

Sept. 3, 1919 - March 20, 2012

Della Woznichak, 92, of Canonsburg, died Tuesday, March 20, 2012 in the Washington County Health Center.

She was born Sept. 3, 1919 in Hendersonville, a daughter of Anthony and Mary Pavlik Ralish.

She was Catholic. On Sept. 10, 1938, she married Michael Woznichak, who died Aug. 17, 2002.

She was an avid bingo player, and also loved slot machines. She was well known for her pierogies, pigs in the blanket and for her baking.

Surviving are her son, Michael (Judy) Woznichak, of Canonsburg; her daughter, Dolores (Walter) Stankowski, of Hendersonville; her sister, Frances Stout, of Canoga Park, Calif.; four grandchildren, Duke Stankowski, Michael and Gregg Woznichak, and Christine Pituch; eight great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Anthony, Joseph and Andrew Kutlubeck, and her sisters, Blanche Lilley, Elizabeth Molvin Miller, Helen Thomas, Sophie Ralish, Mary Ralish and Margaret Ralish.

Friends will be received from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Sollon Funeral Home, 30 E. Pike St., Canonsburg.

A mass of Christian burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church in Cecil. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
