Obituary: Freda Manolakas

Freda Manolakas, 81, of Canonsburg, died Thursday, June 14, 2012 in her home.

She was born Sept. 14, 1930 in Canonsburg, a daughter of the late Mike and Aphrodite Scouloukas Sfikas.

She was a member of All Saints Greek Orthodox Church, Daughters of Penelope, Philoptochos, and was active in Faith in Action.

Surviving are her husband, James G. Manolakas of Canonsburg, two daughters, Denise Bellan (and husband Keith) of Venetia, and Maria Manolakas Wiessenseel  (and husband Guenter) of Virginia Beach. Also surviving are two grandchildren, Katrina and Patricia Bellan.

Friends will be received from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday and 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Sunday in the Sollon Funeral Home located at 30 E. College St. in Canonsburg. Additional visitation will be held in All Saints Greek Orthodox Church from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Monday, the time of services. Father George Livanos will officiate.

Interment will follow in Forest Lawn Gardens in McMurray.
