
Mary C. Mastrangelo, 74, of Muse, died at 10:02 p.m. Tuesday Dec. 6, 2011 in her home following a lengthy illness. She was surrounded by her family.
She was born Jan. 23, 1937 in McDonald, a daughter of the late George and Kathryn Wallack Kozak.
Mrs. Mastrangelo lived most of her life in Muse, where she was a member of Holy Rosary Roman Catholic Church. She had been employed at both Cataneo’s Market in McMurray and Penner’s in Muse. Prior to her retirement she had been employed at Rosner’s Dress Shop in Canonsburg. She was a homemaker who enjoyed cooking and talk radio—especially political shows—and was an avid Pittsburgh Pirates fan.

On April 28, 1953 she married Frank A. Mastragelo Sr., who died March 25, 1997. Surviving are two daughters, Rhonda (Greg) Felton of Houston and Christine (David) Barton of Canonsburg; Mark (Rebecca) Matrangelo of Henderson; Nevada and Kevin (Rae Lynn) Mastrangelo of Venetia, eight grandchildren, Matthew (Maria) Felton, Lindsey and Amanda Felton, Jared and Mitchell Barton, Melia, Mario and Nicco Mastrangelo; a great grandson, Gregory Mellert; a brother George E. (Jane) Kozak of Washington; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased in addition to her husband and parents, is a son, Frank A. Mastrangelo Jr., who died May 25, 1989 and a brother, Bernard James Kozak, who died Nov. 29, 2008.

Friends are welcome from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday in Salandra Funeral Service, Inc. in Canonsburg, where a blessing service will be held at 9 a.m. Saturday. A Mass of Christian Buial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Saturday in Holy Rosary Chuch, Muse, with Rev. George T. DeVile, as celebrant. Entombment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery, in Peters Township. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Holy Rosary Church.
