
Thomas C. Harris, 65, of , died peacefully Wednesday, Dec. 7, 2011 in the Donnell House after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer. He was born in Detrout, Mich., on Nov. 9, 1946, a son of the late Thomas E. and Virginia Holtz Harrig.
Mr. Harrig proudly served as sergeant in the U.S. Air Force.
Mr. Harrig was a member of the Canonsburg Sportsman’s Club, the Pennsylvania Gun Collector’s Association and a was a life member of the NRA. In addition to being a machinist he also loved reading, flying model airplanes and collecting guns.

He worked as a service technician for Guardian Protection Services.
Surviving are one son, Thomas J (Erin Oyler) Harrig of Bridgeville; his companion, Frances Harrig of Carnegie; two brothers, William J. (Linda M.) Harrig and Matthew J. (Terri) Harrig, both of Canonsburg; one sister, Jeanne Cramer of Bridgeville; a grandchild, Emma; Niece, April Harrig; and nephew, Mark Cramer.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday and from 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sollon Funeral Home at 30 E. Pike Street in Canonsburg.
Services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Sollon Funeral Home. Interment will follow in the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Cecil Township.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to the Wounded Warriors Project or the Washington Area Humane Society.
