Patch Picks: Shrug Off Sugar Shock at the Theater

Tickets are still available for several shows this weekend.

This weekend, children everywhere will be anxiously awaiting an over-sized fuzz ball to hop into their homes and hide baskets full of sugary snacks. For grown-ups who may not be as satisfied with a handful of , though, Pittsburgh’s diverse cultural region offers several treats this Easter weekend.

Need a break from your kids after the frustrating fun of trying to dye eggs (not that there’s anything wrong with that)?

Comedian Jerry Seinfeld, who made a show about nothing a cultural icon, is bringing his flavor of stand-up to Pittsburgh’s Benedum Center tonight. Seinfeld will satisfy the region’s need for laughter with two performances at 7 p.m. and 9:30 p.m.

Come escape reality and get lost in the music, love and laughter of this hugely popular show. Tickets remain for both of today's performances, at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and the Sunday 2 p.m. performance. Prices range from $27 to $67.

The laughs continue with a brand-new comedy that has made its way to the stage at the O’Reilly Theater. "Superior Donuts," written by Pulitzer Prize winner Tracy Letts and directed by Rob Ruggiero, opened April 14 and runs through May 15.

Theater goers will have three opportunities to catch this performance Easter weekend, with one today at 8 p.m. and two Sunday at 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. Ticket prices range from $35.75 to $60.75.
