Petco Hosts “Caring Community Adoption Festival” in Washington, PA

According to the ASPCA, approximately 7.6 million companion animals enter animal shelters nationwide every year, and about 2.7 million of them are euthanized. To help reduce these numbers, the Washington, PA Petco is hosting a “Caring Community Adoption Festival,” the store’s largest-ever pet adoption event, on July 12, 2014.

This event, which takes place from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature adoptable cats, dogs and rabbits from seven local pet adoption groups. Additionally, there will be safety demonstrations from Youngwood Fire Department’s search and rescue dogs and a community meet and greet with a horse from Save a Horse Sanctuary.

The adoption groups participating in the Washington Petco’s “Caring Community Adoption Event” include Rabbit Wranglers, Golden Retrievers in Need, Hello Bully, Pet Search, National Brittany Rescue & Adoption Network, Pennsylvania Great Dane Rescue and Hurry Home Hounds.
