Public Hearing Continued; MarkWest Appeals Zoning Denial
Cecil Township supervisors again continue public hearing regarding its proposed conditional-use ordinance governing Marcellus Shale drilling. MarkWest appeal announced.
Range Resources attorney Ken Komoroski said Cecil Township's proposed conditional-use ordinance "will not work"βand called it "easily" challengeable during a public hearing Thursday.
After more than three hours of public testimoney, the board again continued the meeting so that remarks from supervisors, industry leaders and Cecil Fire Chief Dennis Berty could be incorporated into the ordinance supervisors will vote on.
The board continued the meeting to 6:30 p.m. May 23. Supervisors said they expect to make a decision sometime in June.

In other business, solicitor John Smith also inicated that MarkWest appealed the township zoning board's denial of its special request to install a compressor station near Coleman Road.
