Range Resources Names New Leader

Transition plan announced today.

Range Resources Monday morning announced that its board of directors approved a transition plan that will allow company President Jeffrey L. Ventura to assume the additional role of chief executive officer.

The transition will begin Jan. 1, according to a release. At that time, Range’s current CEO, John H. Pinkerton, will assume the position of executive chairman.

Pinkerton has served as Range’s CEO since 1992.

Ventura, 53, who also currently serves as the company’s chief operating officer, has been with Range since 2003 and was elected a director in 2005.

Outside his tenure at Range, Ventura has 32 years of industry experience and holds a bachelor of science degree in petroleum and natural gas engineering from Pennsylvania State University.

"The process of transitioning the CEO responsibilities to Jeff has been underway for some time. Jeff’s leadership, technical abilities and proven track record make him the logical choice as my successor,” Pinkerton said in a release. β€œHaving worked side by side with Jeff for eight years, I have great confidence that he will successfully lead Range for the benefit of all our stakeholders.”
