Robert Harold Morrison

Robert Harold Morrison, 88, of Canonsburg, died Saturday, June 4, 2011 in his home.

He was born Nov. 12, 1922 in Canonsburg, a son of the late Robert and Margaret Rathbone.

Prior to his retirement, he worked as a self-employed masonry contractor. He was a life-long resident of Canonsburg, and was a member of the VFW Post 191, Slovak American Mutual Benefit Club, VFW Post 553, White Eagles 1746, the American Legion Post 902 and the Canonsburg AGA.

Surviving is his son, Robert H. Morrison Jr., of Canonsburg; two daughters, Virginia (John) Lloyd, of Canonsburg, and Margaret J. (Rev. David) Kinsey, of Pittsburgh; his brother, Donald (Patricia) Morrison, of Texas; his sister, Betty Sheldon, of Houston; seven grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two great-great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Frances V. Kerner Morrison, and his brothers, John and W. Glenn Morrison.

Friends will be received from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the Sollon Funeral Home at 30 E. College St., Canonsburg. Additional visitation will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, followed by a Service of Celebration of Life at 11 a.m, with the Rev. David Kinsey officiating in the funeral home.

Full military rites will be accorded by VFW Post 19 and the American Legion Post 902.

Interment will be private.
