Spotlight: Why I Love Town Park
Tad Thompson, a pupil at St. Patrick's School, was a first-place winner in the Why I Love Town Park essay contest sponsored by Canonsburg's Parks and Recreation Board.

My sister and her friend worked at the pool last summer. My sister worked at the concession stand and her friend is a lifeguard.
For the past three years I had my birthday party at the pool. Some of my friends go to Camp Splash, so we just walk to my house after swimming for cake and ice cream.
Once every year, my whole school walks to Town Park for field day. We
have races, contests and lunch there. In the winter sometimes we go sled riding down the hill at Town Park. When my brothers were younger, they would catch salamanders in the creek.

Sometimes I take my little cousin to the park. Last year, I went to Cub Scouts Day Camp at Town Park. On the last day of camp, we had a gigantic slip and slide!!!
Every year we walk to the Easter Egg Hunt. Town Park was the first place I ever went off the diving board and slide. Once I went off 32 times in one day! I have made lots of friends at the pool and the park. Every year my school has a picnic at the park and we always have a
moon bounce.
My dad went to Town Park when he was young and my grandfather went when he was young and he had to walk two miles to get there.
