Three Injured in Avella Gas Well Site Fire
Chesapeake Appalachia representatives said one was flown to a Pittsburgh hospital for treatment.

Three workers were injured during a fire at a Chesapeake Appalachia well site in Avella Wednesday afternoon.
Company spokeswoman Stacey Brodak said in a release that a flash fire occured, which ignited natural gas liquid storage tanks there.
Chesapeake Energy is one of a several oil and gas companies that operate Marcellus Shale drilling operations locally.

It is not known what caused the fire, the release said, added that all wells were "shut in and there is no danger to area residents or threat to the environment."
