A free event at the Racetrack Road location previews the opening of a third branch in the borough—and features fun, fundraising and local food favorites.

Washington Community Federal Credit Union is announcing the upcoming opening of its newest Canonsburg branch with a free event today.

The event will be held from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the credit union’s 440 Racetrack Road location.

Saturday’s celebration is free and open to the public, and will feature hot dogs
with famous Shorty’s sauce, pizza from local favorite Jimmy Z’s, music by
WJPA and gaming entertainment by Games 2 U’s mobile video game unit.

There will be a bounce house, human ‘hamster ball’ rides, games and coloring activities for young children. Washington Ambulance & Chair and the and will be on-site offering safety tips for families.

Visitors will also have the opportunity to enter to win four tickets to see the Pittsburgh Steelers take on Cincinnati at Heinz Field on Dec. The credit union is also giving away a Steelers tailgate prize package valued at more than $200.

Sarris Chocolate bars will be available for $1 each, with all proceeds benefiting the credit union’s American Cancer Society Relay for Life team.

“This event is sure to be our biggest and best yet,” said Amanda Grolemund,
marketing director. “We really enjoy inviting the community out to meet us, share
a snack, and grab some goodies. While many banks are upping fees and cutting
back on customer service, we want to remind everyone that we’re still the caring,
community-focused organization that thousands of local residents have trusted
with their finances for decades.”

Washington Community Federal Credit Union is opening a third location later this
year at 151 E. Pike St. in .
