On Saturday, October 20, 2012, Woodville Plantation will host a special event featuring the musical talents of Mark Tamsula, Richard Withers and Ellen Gozion. Beginning at 7 pm, these artists will perform a concert of old time Appalachian musicfrom the Southwestern Pennsylvania region.
MarkTamsula and Richard Withers will play fiddle and banjo instrumentals, in addition to songs on the flute and accordion. Joining them will be Ellen Gozion,who will sing a selection of traditional ballads, also from this region. Mark and Richard have recently released a cd of their music titled Up in the Batten House. Woodville Plantation, the home of John and Presley Neville, is Western Pennsylvania's link to the late 18th century. Built in 1775, this living history museum interprets life during the period of 1780 - 1820, the Era of the New Republic. Guided tours of the house are available every Sunday from 1 pm to 4 pm.
